Tirotex ( Russian Тиротекс ) is a Transnistrian manufacturer of textiles and clothing. According to its own information, it is the largest textile company in Transnistria and the south-western CIS . The company's products are exported to 30 countries and the company has over 1,000 employees.
Tirotex goes back to a Soviet company that was founded in 1973 and, also during the Soviet Union, was awarded the Order of the Red Labor Banner in 1986 . The entire region has belonged to Transnistria since 1992. In 1998 the entire company received the Order of the Republic , the highest Transnistrian distinction. The company's goods have already been sold at Aldi , among others, in German-speaking countries .
In a report by the German company Karl Mayer Textilmaschinenfabrik , Tirotex was named the second largest pure textile manufacturer in Europe.
