Tiruttakkadevar ( Tamil : திருத்தக்கதேவர் Tiruttakkatēvar [ ˈt̪iɾɯˌt̪ːakːəˌd̪eːʋər ]) was a Tamil Jain poet. He probably lived in the 10th century and wrote the epic Sivagasindamani .

Practically no reliable historical facts are known about Tiruttakkadevar. It is dated to the 10th century, because his Sivagasindamani proven on the Sanskrit -Werk Uttarapurana based, which was completed in 897/898. According to the author Nachinarkkiniyar , who wrote a commentary on Sivagasindamani in the 14th century , he is said to have been a Chola prince who lived as a Jain monk in the capital of the Ganga kings. He was challenged by non-Jain poets who questioned his ability to write love poetry. In response, Tiruttakkadevar wrote the Sivagasindamani .

In addition to the Sivagasindamani , Tiruttakkadevar is attributed another, less well-known work: The Nariviruttam , a moral didactic poem in 51 stanzas. In the case of Narivirittam, however , Tiruttakkadevar's authorship is extremely uncertain.
