The Tivola Publishing GmbH is a German publisher for applications and computer games for children. The company based in Hamburg was founded in 1995. Together with international partners, Tivola distributes its titles worldwide. The portfolio includes both in-house developments such as the learning game series Lerner Success Primary School as well as the licensed brands Inkheart and Princess Lillifee .
history
Tivola is a multimedia publisher with edutainment , knowledge and detective games for children, young people and the whole family. The company name is made up of the surnames of the company founders Thierig, Voelker and Landbeck, who founded the company in 1995 to develop “high quality, non-violent” software for children .
The majority shareholder today is the Deutsche Druck- und Verlagsgesellschaft (ddvg), the media holding company of the SPD . The company generated losses over several years (as of early 2019).
