Under the generic term Tivoli , IBM offers software for the administration of information systems . On the one hand, they are used to monitor computers, distribute software , inventory systems or back up data . On the other hand, processes such as release , change and storage management are supported by applications . Founded in Austin, Texas in 1989 , Tivoli has been a wholly owned subsidiary of IBM since 1996 .

IBM Service Management Platform

The concept of the CMDB from ITIL can be found in the IBM Service Management Platform . This platform makes it possible to automatically locate, inventory and catalog all IT assets of a company that can be reached via a network (e.g. information technology devices, but also immaterial goods). The configuration of each configuration item is identified and saved via a specified IP address range . This information is stored in the CCMDB. In the case of the IBM Tivoli product, change management is included from the start. The products are

IT process management
