Tiyatro Frankfurt is a Turkish-speaking theater in Frankfurt am Main . The texts of the pieces are displayed in German on a canvas.

history

Tiyatro Frankfurt was founded under the direction and leadership of Kamil Kellecioglu in 2003 to promote multicultural cooperation in society and to encourage German-Turkish exchange on an artistic level. The pieces are modern and contemporary and deal with sociopolitical and socially critical issues in Germany and Turkey.

In 2012, a new theater program was designed in consultation with many school teachers. From 2013, a Turkish-language children's theater concept was offered for the first time in order to achieve and promote children's skills in the area of ​​“social interaction” and integration into society at an early stage through the performing arts . On February 8, 2013, the first theater course was started as a pilot project for Turkish-speaking children.

In 2013 the Theater Tiyatro Frankfurt eV was awarded the Integration Prize of the City of Frankfurt am Main .

Since January 19, 2014, the Tiyatro Frankfurt has enjoyed guest rights at the Fliegende Volksbühne Frankfurt Rhein-Main by cabaret artist Michael Quast .

The engagement of the theater association does not go unnoticed in Turkey. In 2019 Tiyatro Frankfurt received the award for the best festival at the Anatolian Theater Awards.

The Turkish Theater Festival , organized for the seventh time by Tiyatro Frankfurt under the artistic advice of Haldun Dormen , Ayla Algan and Tamer Levent , which was supposed to take place from March 20 to 30, 2020, has been postponed due to the corona virus.
