To Catch a Predator is an American television program broadcast by Dateline NBC on MSNBC . The show, hosted by Chris Hansen , was produced from November 2004 to December 2007. In the program, people were specifically attracted via the Internet who had previously exchanged inappropriate messages online with a supposedly 13–15 year old child. The people are invited to a meeting and received by a very young-looking actress. After the meeting, Chris Hansen confronted the perpetrators with hidden cameras. The police then reached out and arrested the lured person.
