Tobit Schäfer

Tobit Schäfer (born May 26, 1980 ) is a Swiss politician ( SP ).

Life

Tobit Schäfer is the owner and managing director of Die Organization GmbH, an agency for project implementation, as well as managing director of RFV Basel (pop funding). He headed the Basel Youth Culture Festival for several years and is a member of the boards of the Kulturstadt Jetzt, the GGG Basel and the Casino-Gesellschaft Basel . He is also a board member of the Kuppel Foundation.

Schäfer was already active on the board of the Basel youth parliament during his school days at the Humanist Gymnasium in Basel . In 2004 he joined the Social Democratic Party of Basel-Stadt , for which he was elected to the Basel Grand Council that same year . Schäfer has been President of the Audit Committee of the Grand Council since February 2013 . In 2006 he was also elected Vice President of the cantonal party. His political priorities are urban development, location promotion as well as cultural and youth policy. On November 14, 2017, he announced his resignation from the Grand Council for January 2018. Beda Baumgartner is to move up for Schäfer .

Tobit Schäfer is the partner of civil court president Anita Heer and has a daughter with her.
