Boris Alexeevich Khmelnitski ( Russian Борис Алексеевич Хмельницкий , scientific transliteration Boris Alexeevič Hmelnickij ; born June 27, 1940 in Ussuriysk ; † February 16, 2008 in Moscow ) was a Russian theater and film actor. He worked at Moscow's Taganka Theater for many years . In the cinema he was known for numerous leading roles in adventure films , such as B. Robin Hood , Ivanhoe , Prince Igor , The Children of Captain Grant and numerous others. The last film he starred in was the 2008 film Taras Bulba directed by Vladimir Bortko . Boris Khmelnitsky held the title of People's Artist of the USSR .

Boris Khmelnitsky died on February 16, 2008 of heart disease. He is buried in the Kunzewoer Cemetery in Moscow.
