Tokwane Ngundu

Tokwane Ngundu has a population of 11,363 (2006) and is located in the south of the Masvingo province in Zimbabwe .

Tokwane Ngundu, which are two merged places, is located in a semi-arid , agrarian area. There is a lack of water, sewage, electricity, health care and infrastructure. It is tribal land, which is why the land reform did not dispossess anyone here. The people grow corn, cotton and soy on small plots. Most of the trees have been cut down, and goats have grazed the arid grasslands. Water for irrigating fields flows far from here. The Manisi river itself runs dry and the Limpopo is too far away. The government has settled landless farmers here. But they cannot live from the small fields, so they are dependent on food aid from the government. 700,000 landless people from the destroyed slums in front of Harare are still waiting for a piece of land, which they will probably receive here.
