The Blade (until January 2, 1960 Toledo Blade ) is an American daily newspaper from Toledo . It was first published on December 19, 1835. At first it was only printed on Saturdays, since May 1846 three times a week and since 1848 it has appeared daily. The newspaper is part of the Block Communications media group. In 1997 the newspaper's website was launched, ToledoBlade.com. The newspaper is considered liberal .

In 2004 Toledo Blade received the Pulitzer Prize for a series on the war crimes of the Tiger Force during the Vietnam War .
