Tolyattinskoye Obozreniye
The Tolyattinskoje Obosrenije ( Russian Тольяттинское обозрение , also "Toliatinskoie Oborosrenie" written, German "Tolyatti-Umschau") is an independent Russian weekly newspaper from the city of Tolyatti .
history
The newspaper has made a name for itself through its critical reporting. Among other things, the Tolyattinskoje Obosrenije has repeatedly reported on criminal machinations in the Russian automobile capital Tolyatti , where the paper is based.
The weekly newspaper gained international fame when two of its editors-in-chief were murdered within a year and a half . On April 29, 2002, Valery Ivanov was killed by eight shots in the head from close range. Ivanov's successor, Alexei Sidorov , was attacked by an unknown person on October 9, 2003 and stabbed with a sharp object. Only days after the crime, the then Interior Minister Boris Gryzlov said that the murder had been solved. The trial against the alleged murderer Alexei Sidorov ended with an acquittal.
