Tollcross House is a mansion in the Scottish city ​​of Glasgow . In 1970 the building was included in the Scottish monument lists in the highest monument category A.

history

Tollcross House was built for James Dunlop in 1848 . Scottish architect David Bryce is responsible for the design . The City of Glasgow acquired the building in 1898. In 1905 a children's museum was set up there. In 1989 Tollcross House was converted into a care facility.

Tollcross House is in Tollcross Park in east Glasgow. The two-story mansion is designed in the Scottish Baronial style . The asymmetrically constructed facades are designed with stepped gables , mid-gables and corner gables. The square corner turrets have parallels to the towers of Pinkie House . The final roofs are covered with slate. The interior is relatively simple.
