Tolongoina

Tolongoina is a small town in the Malagasy region of Vatovavy-Fitovinany with 17,000 inhabitants in 2001. The place is connected to the Malagasy road network via the unpaved national road 14 ( Ifanadiana - Ikongo ). It is also located on the Fianarantsoa-Côte Est railway from Fianarantsoa to Manakara . The majority of the population is employed in agriculture. The main products are bananas, ginger, coffee and rice.
