Tomáš Berger (born August 22, 1985 in Prague ) is a Czech football player . The midfielder is currently under contract with FK Dukla Prague and has been on loan to FC Viktoria Plzen since 2012.

Career

Tomáš Berger is the son of the former Czechoslovak national player Jan Berger , who ended his career in Switzerland . His son Tomáš started playing football in Schlieren when he was five years old . In 1999 the family returned to the Czech Republic and Tomáš joined the youth department of Sparta Prague . After just a year, the midfielder was loaned to Meteor Prague but then returned to Sparta. In the 2003/04 season Berger played on loan for Sokol Ovčáry, once again he returned to Prague.

He did not make the leap into the professional team and was only used in the B team. In early 2007 he was loaned to FK Dukla Prague , who played in the fifth division. In the summer of 2007 Dukla took over the license of the second division Jakubčovice Fotbal , Tomáš Berger was firmly committed. In the professional team he could not prevail and came in the 2007/08 season on only three second division appearances. As a result, he only played in the B team. After a successful 2008/09 season in which he scored 17 goals in 28 games, he signed a professional contract. In the 2009/10 season Berger scored four goals in 25 second division games.
