Tom Ludwig

Horace Thomas "Tom" Ludwig (* 1944 ) is an American basketball coach .

career

Ludwig played basketball for the University of Michigan team from 1961 to 1965 . He was a coach at Lake Superior State University from 1970 to 1974 . From 1979 to 1981 he was interim and from 1981 to 1995 head coach of Ferris State University . He led the team to six championship titles in the GLIAC college league. In 1982, 1983, 1987, 1989 and 1990 Ludwig was named Trainer of the Year by GLIAC. In November 1995 he was given a temporary leave of absence after he was accused by a player of Polish descent of having racially insulted him. Ludwig resigned from his office. Jarvis Walker was one of Ludwig's most famous protégés at Ferris State University .

In 1997 he coached the Red Star Belgrade team in 16 games . In the spring of 2001, Ludwig was the coach of SSV Ratiopharm Ulm , but could not  save the team from relegation from the basketball Bundesliga .
