Tomas Antonelius (* 7. May 1973 in Stockholm as Tomas Gustafsson ) is a former Swedish national football team .
Antonelius started his career at IF Brommapojkarna . In 1997 he moved to AIK Solna in the Allsvenskan . Two years later he went to Coventry City in England in the FA Premier League . In 2002 he went to FC København . Due to a serious knee injury, however, he was unable to play a game in Denmark after six months. In September 2003 he officially announced the end of his career.
Antonelius was also a Swedish international . With the national selection, he took part in the European Championship in 2000 and the World Championship in 2002 .
Until 2001 Antonelius played under his maiden name. However, since Gustafsson is one of Sweden's most common surnames and Tomas is a popular first name, he decided to change his name to avoid confusion. He chose the name his sister has had since their wedding.
After his abrupt end of his career, Antonelius began studying economics .
