Tom Dunker

Tom "Tommy" Dunker (born June 26, 1969 in Neumünster ) is a German motorcycle track racer who was successful on both speedway and grass and sand tracks .

He started in the international license class at the age of 17 and became the 18-year-old German speedway champion in 1987. In the same year he started in the German national speedway team and successfully took part in the U21 Speedway European Championship / World Championships in 1987 and 1988, where he finished fifth. In 1988 Dunker started together with Gerd Riss for Germany at the Best Pairs World Cup.

In addition to engagements in the German Speedway Bundesliga and the Danish Super League, Dunker started in 1991 for the team from Kolejarz Opole in the Polish Speedway Extra League. Dunker celebrated his career high point in 1997 when he won the World Long Course Championship. Due to several injuries Dunker had to end his career abruptly in the summer of 1998.
