Ton Büchner

Ton Büchner (* 1965 ) is a Dutch manager, former Chief Executive Officer (CEO) at AkzoNobel and the Swiss industrial group Sulzer AG .

Professional career

After a first position as a civil engineer for projects in the oil and gas sector at Allseas Engineering from 1987 to 1990 and work as a project manager at RJ Brown and Associates (in Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore in the offshore pipelines sector ) and at John Brown Engineers and Constructors in the Between 1990 and 1993 Ton Büchner joined the Swiss Sulzer Group in 1994 as Strategic Development Manager . There he held managerial positions in various areas until 2007 and then finally took over the post of Chief Executive Officer (CEO), which he held until October 2011.

He has been a non-executive member of the Novartis Board of Directors since 2016 . Büchner was CEO of AkzoNobel from 2012 to July 2017 .
