Clay press

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Tonpress was a Polish record label . It belonged to the state KAW ( Krajowa Agencja Wydawnicza - National Agency for Publications). The catalog includes many foreign licensed albums and singles, often with different covers, as well as Polish records and audio books for children.

Thanks to the Tonpress license albums, GDR citizens had the opportunity to access records from Western stars of the time, such as New Order . After the Polish communists lost power after 1989, the new, democratically elected government decided to privatize Tonpress. The Tonpress catalog has been split between various private labels.
