Tony Le Tissier

Tony Le Tissier MBE (* 1932 ) is a British historian who wrote various works on World War II , among other things . The battle for Berlin and the battle for the Seelower Heights are among his main research interests.

Life

Le Tissier was a career officer in the British armed forces and the last military governor of the Spandau war crimes prison , in which Rudolf Hess and Albert Speer , among others , were imprisoned after the end of the Second World War . After his retirement he stayed in Berlin and did research there for several years.
