Toon Nijssen
Toon Nijssen (born January 7, 1919 in Rotterdam , † beginning of April 2011 ) was a Dutch football player .
In 1947 Nijssen became a member of the Sparta Rotterdam club, which had been promoted to first class the previous year . In the top division, the right defender made 21 games for Sparta. After his active career, he remained loyal to the club in various functions; Among other things, he coached the club's youth teams for many years. In 1990, Sparta appointed Nijssen, known as Ome Toon ("Uncle Toon"), an honorary member.
