Top 12 (women) 2018

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The top 12 2018 was the 16th French women's chess team championship .

The championship was the Club de Clichy-Echecs-92 , which had only risen from the National I last year , while the defending champion Club de Mulhouse Philidor had to be content with second place. Last year, alongside Clichy Echiquier Nîmois and La tour de Juvisy , Nationale I was promoted . While all the climbers achieved relegation, Cercle d'Echecs de Strasbourg and Évry Grand Roque had to relegate. Since no promoted team was reported from the eastern relay of Nationale I and Cercle d'Echecs de Villepinte decided not to participate, the competition was held with only ten teams; Therefore, only two teams relegated to reach the target strength of twelve teams again for 2019.

For the reported team squads, see team squad of the top 12 (women) 2018 .

Game dates

The preliminary round took place in Rungis from May 5th to 8th , the final round was held in Asnières-sur-Seine on June 23rd and 24th .

The ten participating clubs played a simple round-robin tournament in two preliminary round groups with five teams each. The number of team points (3 points for a win, 2 points for a draw, 1 point for a defeat, 0 points for a defeat without a fight), then the direct comparison, then the difference between winning and losing games and ultimately the number of winning games. The last of the preliminary rounds was relegated to National I, while the two first placed qualified for the final round. This was carried out in the knockout system , with third place also being played out.
