Top Secret was a quiz program that was first broadcast on October 10, 2012 on Swiss TV station SRF 1 on Wednesdays at 8:05 p.m. The show was moderated by Roman Kilchsperger . The show was based on the English BBC telecast Secret Fortune .
In March 2018 it was announced that Kilchsperger would only moderate the show until summer 2018. The production of Top Secret will then be discontinued.
Gameplay
At the beginning of the broadcast there are 20 envelopes , each containing a number from 1 to 100,000. The number reflects the value in Swiss francs . For the last of the nine questions, the candidate receives the amount that is in the last envelope. Once in the program, except for the final round, someone brought along can be asked as a “joker” for support.
The first round consists of five questions. The candidate selects four from the 20 envelopes per question. The questions are structured so that the envelope with the largest amount belongs to the best answer. In contrast to other quiz shows, no answer options are given for selection. Instead, three answers are "played out". The selected envelopes are opened and, after the discarded value has been announced, destroyed in a shredder . The envelope of the last answer remains on the candidate's desk for the second round.
In round 2 the correct answer is played. There are five possible answers to the first question, four to the second question and three to the third question.
In the final round, a question with two possible answers is asked with the two remaining envelopes.
The numbers in the 20 envelopes are as follows: 1, 10, 100, 1,000, 2,000, 4,000, 5,000, 6,000, 7,000, 9,000, 10,000, 12,000, 14 '000, 16'000, 18'000, 20'000, 25'000, 50'000, 75'000, 100'000.
Specials - "Top Secret"
There were special editions of the quiz show at irregular intervals. Prominent guests were invited as candidates, who then donate the amount raised to a charitable organization. The big festive special on December 27, 2017 with the two presenters of the show glanz & Gloria - Annina Frey and Nicole Berchtold - as well as the songwriter and singer Peter Reber caused continued criticism in the media.
Charisma
The first broadcast of the respective episode took place on Wednesday at 8:05 pm on SRF 1. The first repetition took place the following day in the night program also on SRF 1. The second repetition took place on Saturday morning in the morning program of SRF 2.
