Toray Industries, Inc. ( Japanese 東 レ 株式会社 , Tōre Kabushiki kaisha , English Toray Industries, Inc. ) is a Japanese chemical company headquartered in Tokyo . Toray Industries was founded in January 1926.

Toray Industries is the world's largest manufacturer of PAN- based carbon fibers . With the takeover of Zoltek in March 2014, Toray significantly expanded its market leadership. Toray Membrane is the market leader in membranes for reverse osmosis .
