Torba (building material)

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Torba is a cement-like, solidified, very stable material that was used to manufacture floors in Neolithic temples on Malta and Gozo . For this purpose, crushed globigerine lime was placed on a bed of small stones and, similar to the lime press technique, moistened and tamped several times.
