Torbat-e Jām , English transcribed and internationally known Torbat-e Jam ( Persian تربت جام, DMG Torbat-e Ǧām ), is the capital of the administrative district of the same name in the province of Razavi-Khorasan . In 2016 the city had around 100,000 inhabitants. The city is located about 160 kilometers west of the provincial capital Mashhad in northeastern Iran .

Torbat-e Jam is an ancient city. It is located about 160 kilometers southwest of Mashhad, about 60 kilometers north of Taybad and about 40 kilometers west of the Afghan border.

The Köppen-Geiger climate classification system classifies the climate as semi-arid (BSk). In Torbat-e Jam, the summers are hot, dry, windy, and clear, and the winters are very cold, dry, and mostly clear.

Torbat-e Jam is one of the ancient cities in the Khorasan region . There are several ancient sites here, such as the mausoleums of Sheikh Ahmad Jami and Prince Qasem-e Anvar.
