Torhousekie
The slightly oval stone circle of Torhousekie (also Torhouse) is located near the B733 about 5.5 km west of Wigtown in the Scottish county of Dumfries and Galloway . The circle stands on an artificial hill made of earth and stones.
The 21.4 x 20 m circle consists of 19 stones with heights between 0.6 and 1.4 m. The highest stone is in the southeast. Torhouse provides with its three medial stones in a variety of the primary Kincardineshire and Aberdeenshire spread stone circles represent. Aubrey Burl sees it as a link between the circles in the southwest of Ireland and in the north-east Scotland.
South of the circle is a 1.45 m high menhir (Torhousekie West) and to the east, a little over 125 m away, there is a row of stones (Torhousekie East) consisting of three stones.
