Torsques

Torsken ( Sami Doaskku dt. The cod ) is a former municipality in the former Norwegian North- Fylke (Province) Troms , today Troms og Finnmark . As part of the municipal reform in Norway , Torsken was transferred to the newly created municipality of Senja .

The largest town in the municipality is the fishing village of Gryllefjord, followed by the eponymous settlement of Torsken. Torskens Church was built in the 18th century. Gryllefjord is the landing stage for the car ferry that runs in the summer months across the Andfjord to Andenes on the island of Andøya .
