TotalRugby.de

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

TotalRugby.de is a German-language website that publishes news about rugby . It is the official non-commercial cooperation partner of the German Rugby Association .

history

Up until the opening of the Internet platform TotalRugby, there were various attempts in Germany to publish news about rugby. The DRV has been running its own page rugby.de for many years. There was also, for example, the German Rugby Journal as the association's official newspaper with its own website, rugbyweb.de as a results service and scrum.de, where internet users could publish their own news on the subject of rugby.

In 2008, national rugby union player and official Manuel Wilhelm started the TotalRugby project to establish a contemporary, high-quality and successful news platform on the internet. The concept provides that in addition to a permanent base of volunteers from the German rugby scene, users can also publish messages under their real names. What is unique is that live streams and live tickers are regularly offered from Bundesliga match days and international matches . TotalRugby became the most widely used German internet platform on the topic and the association concluded a cooperation agreement after its association magazine Deutsches Rugby Journal was discontinued . The project is financed primarily through advertising income and donations. For some cost-intensive offers such as live streams and tickers of special events, donations are regularly collected from users and fans in order to be able to maintain a basically free use. Furthermore, a number of German and Luxembourg rugby clubs, the so-called TotalRugby Supporter Clubs, support the project with monthly donations of ten euros.

Primarily, on TotalRugby.de reports on rugby union and rugby 7 , but also on rugby league in Germany, Luxembourg and Austria.
