The Toteisloch near Herbisried, a district of the Bad Grönenbach municipality in the Unterallgäu district ( Bavaria ), is a registered geotope with the number 778R002. It is located at an altitude of 762  m above sea level. NN left of the road from the village of Herbisried to the hamlet of Sommersberg on the edge of the forest. Its extension extends over a length of 50 meters, a width of 20 meters and a height of 2 meters over an area of ​​around 1000 m². The moderately deepened hollow form has a vegetation that differs significantly from the surroundings . The silted up dead ice hole is boggy and wet in places. It was created on the edge of the glacier of the outgoing high glacial from the Würme Ice Age . The unprotected geotope is classified by the Bavarian State Office for the Environment in the region as well as supraregional as rare and with regional geological importance.
