The competition was originally developed in the United States and is considered the Fire Department Ironman competition . The competition is held for men in six different age groups, and there is a separate class for women. The European elimination will take place in the Elisabeth Hospital in Mönchengladbach , the World Championship was held in Liverpool in 2008 .

execution

The competition is divided into several disciplines that are based on the requirements of fire fighting. As a rule, the tasks are to be carried out in typical fire fighting equipment. The maximum time for each task is four minutes for the men and five minutes for the women. In the event of non-fulfillment or deviations from tasks, the participant will be charged penalty minutes. The winner of this fire fighting sport is the participant with the lowest total time.

Pull the hose, roll up the hoses

Two B-hoses (80 m in total, laid in bays) are connected to a centrifugal pump. Then the hoses must be pulled out completely up to the marking. Then two B-tubes are simply rolled up and carried to a box. The hoses must be inserted correctly there.

Keizer Force Machine, tunnel run, dummy, escalating wall

At this station, the weight must be hit with a hammer on a Keizer Force Machine up to the target mark. Then it goes through a crawl tunnel with a weight of 20 kg (canister). Then an 80 kg dummy is lifted from a platform and carried or pulled over a distance of 60 m (for women) or 80 m (for men). Then you walk to a three meter high escalating wall , where you put it down and negotiate it. The time is taken when landing on the jumping mat.

Ladders, carry weights to the 2nd floor, pull up the hoses, screw on the mouthpiece

After two extension ladders have been instructed , two 15 kg canisters must be carried to the second floor. There two B-hoses, which are tied in a line, have to be pulled up. Then the two canisters are carried down again. Once at the bottom, a nozzle of a jet pipe or water cannon has to be screwed on.

Floor run

With the floor run, 15 floors have to be mastered with the approximately 17 kg heavy equipment. This exercise is performed with a compressed air breathing apparatus , which is not connected here. Some participants covered the 15 floors in less than two minutes.
