Toula Limnaios ( Greek Τούλα Λιμναίος Toula Limneos , * 1963 in Athens ) is a Greek interpreter and choreographer . Since 1997 she has founded and managed the cie. Together with the composer Ralf R. Ollertz . toula limnaios , with whom she has been based in the Halle Tanzbühne Berlin since 2003 .

Life

After training in classical and modern dance, M. Alexander and Laban technique as well as music and dance education in Brussels, she worked as an interpreter with Claudio Bernardo, Régine Chopinot and as an assistant with Pierre Droulers. Later she continued her education at the Folkwang Hochschule in Essen , where she soon became a member of the Folkwang dance studio under the artistic direction of Pina Bausch . She made a name for herself in live improvisations with the musicians Conny Bauer and Peter Kowald and founded the cie. toula limnaios. Since then, tours and guest performances have taken her to Belgium, Brazil, Germany, Denmark, France, Greece, Ireland, Italy, Lithuania, Latvia, Austria, Poland, Switzerland, Senegal, Spain, Cyprus and Venezuela. In addition to leading her ensemble, she also works as a guest choreographer at Theater Osnabrück , the Frankfurt / Main University of the Performing Arts . From 2007 to 2008, Toula Limnaios was visiting professor for choreography at the Ernst Busch School.
