Ralf R. Ollertz

Ralf R. Ollertz (* 1964 ) is a German composer and, together with Toula Limnaios , artistic director of the Halle Tanzbühne Berlin . In 1996 they both founded the cie. toula limnaios and in 2003 opened the Halle Tanzbühne Berlin, their Berlin venue.

Life

Ralf R. Ollertz studied composition, electroacoustic music , piano and conducting in Nuremberg and Düsseldorf . In 1988 he became musical director at the Wuppertal theater. A scholarship enabled him to study composition with Salvatore Sciarrino in Italy . He then continued his studies at the Folkwang Hochschule in Essen and completed it with the artistic maturity examination in composition with Nikolaus A. Huber and electroacoustic music with Dirk Reith . He founded the ensemble for new music go aheadand worked intensively with visual artists. He wrote and produced radio plays with the authors Clarence Barlow and Hartmut Geerken and was musical director for Claudia Lichtblau for three years . In March 2002 his opera carcrash, composed together with Willy Daum, premiered at the Hanover State Opera and resumed in 2006 at the Stuttgart State Opera. Since 1996 he has headed the cie. Together with Toula Limnaios. toula limnaios and since 2003 the Halle Tanzbühne Berlin. In the last few years he has written not only chamber and orchestral music but also electroacoustic music and radio plays, for which he has received numerous international awards and grants. Tours, radio and television productions have taken him to Europe, South America, the USA, Japan and Australia.
