The cie. toula limnaios is a contemporary dance company that was founded in 1996 by the choreographer Toula Limnaios and the composer Ralf R. Ollertz in Brussels and has been based in Berlin since 1997 .

In 1996 the choreographer and interpreter Toula Limnaios founded the cie with the composer Ralf R. Ollertz in Brussels. toula limnaios. After one and a half years as artist in residence at the Theater L'L, she moved her headquarters to Berlin in 1997 and has since expanded her ensemble, with which she works continuously. In 2001 she was awarded a sponsorship prize from the New Dance Meeting . In 2003 she opened her own venue, Halle Tanzbühne Berlin . In 2004 her Beckett trilogy was produced as a dance film for ZDF / arte under the title breath . Since 2005 the company has received basic funding from the Berlin cultural administration. For the years 2008–2010 she was awarded the Performing Arts Fund with a conceptual grant for top ensembles in independent theater and dance . The extensive repertoire of the cie. toula limnaios, which now comprises 29 full-length works, can be seen on German and international stages around the world. In 2011 it celebrated its 15th anniversary. The dance company works with the Bregenz Festival , for which it staged reading tosca as a commissioned work, the Goethe Institute and the Federal Foreign Office . The tours took the ensemble through Europe, Africa and South America. In 2012 she was awarded the george tabori prize .

Work structure

The cie. toula limnaios is not a temporary, project-related ensemble, but follows the immanent need to produce with permanent employees, long-term planned productions throughout the year at regular working hours and with its own stage with year-round schedules, which is a condition for your artistic success and yours Persistence is.
