Toumast (in the Tuareg language this means identity ) is a world music group from Niger . Toumast's music is a mix of traditional Tuareg chants with rock and blues electric guitar riffs known as "Tuareg Blues" or "Desert Blues". Toumast's musical style is reminiscent of similar bands such as Ali Farka Touré , Tinariwen or Tartit .

Toumast was founded by Moussa Ag Keyna in the early 1990s with various other members and a second time with Aminatou Goumar in 2006.

In the documentary TOUMAST - entre Guitare et Kalashnikov by Dominique Margot, published in 2010, the two group members Moussa and Aminatou are interviewed about the culture and music of the Tuareg.
