Toupets (from old French to (u) p for tufts of hair ) are half wigs or hair replacement parts that are used to hide partial hair loss. Mostly these are made-to-measure hairpieces, which are mainly worn by men with a bald head or bald head .

Originally, the term toupee referred to hair fashion from the second half of the 18th century , a quiff made by teasing or underlaying pads and strengthened by pomade .

Colloquially, a toupee is also known as a fifi .
