Tour La Sablière is the name of a high-rise building in the 18th arrondissement of Paris near the Porte de la Chapelle. The skyscraper was built in 1967 according to plans by the architect André Remondet for the social housing company of the French state railway SNCF , ICF Habitat, and was originally intended for SNCF officials. The building has 27 floors and measures 78 meters. The residential tower has 208 apartments and an office and shops on the ground floor. Like many other buildings along the Boulevard périphérique , the high-rise has neon signs on the roof. Between 1980 and 1997, a neon advertisement for the Belgian copier manufacturer Mita was installed on the roof, followed by neon advertising by TDK and Mercedes . The building was extensively renovated in the mid-2000s. Since then, a Samsung neon sign has been enthroned on the roof of the building. Together with the Tour Super Chapelle, also built by Remondet in 1968, on the opposite side of the street from Rue de la Chapelle , the two residential towers form a gate. The building is connected to public transport in the greater Paris area with the Porte de la Chapelle metro station.
