The Leughenaer Turm (an old spelling for the Dutch word leugenaar , German: liar ) is an octagonal 30 meter high tower in Dunkerque .

The tower, built around 1450, is the city's oldest monument. It was built by Jacques Desfontaines and was surrounded by a platform to monitor the port in the 18th century. In 1814 it was raised for the installation of a beacon . Much of the technical equipment from the 19th century in the tower has been preserved to this day.
