The Tour of Vietnam is a stage race that was first held in 2012 to celebrate the twentieth anniversary of the national cycling federation. It was the very first international cycle race in this country. It is organized by the Vietnamese Cycling Association. The tour takes place in December. It is part of the UCI Asia Tour and is classified in category 2.2. At the first event, the five stages took place exclusively in the south of the country around Ho Chi Minh City and Cần Thơ . The competition ended with one criterion in Ho Chi Minh City, which, however, did not count towards the overall ranking.

The first edition was won in 2012 by En Huang from China ahead of local Hưng Mai Nguyễn and Iranian Mohamad Rajablou .
