The hill is a northern branch of the central volcanic massif. The summit is 332  m , while the former plantation is at an altitude of about 133  m .

The mountain is made up of basalts that are likely to be of a similar age to Nevis Peak (3.43 Ma).

history

In 2007 (rev. 2017) the plantation was the subject of an academic work by historians in which its history was presented. Only remains of the foundations of the buildings remain today. The first evidence can be found on a map from 1848. In the 18th century there are references to the Burt family, who owned there until the 1760s. There are already records from this early period that 8 adult “whites” and 48 “Negro slaves ” lived on the plantation with “341 acres 1 rood 2 perches” . The number of slaves grew to almost 200 people over time. Other owners:

In the 18th century there was a windmill and a steam engine on the plantation.
