The Toyo Tire Corporation ( Japanese 東洋 ゴ ム 工業 株式会社 , Tōyō gomu kōgyo kabushiki kaisha ) is a Japanese tire manufacturer. The head office is in Osaka . The European headquarters, Toyo Tire Europe GmbH, has been in Germany since 1975 and in Willich since 2011 . In 1981 Toyo had annual sales of $ 445 million worldwide and a world market share of 1.5 percent. As of December 31, 2018, Toyo had 12,804 employees worldwide.
Toyo Tires began as a specialist for wide tires / low profile tires and presented these e.g. B. at tuning fairs . Today Toyo produces tires (summer tires and winter tires) for cars, commercial vehicles, off-road vehicles and trucks and sells them in over 100 countries. Toyo is an original equipment manufacturer ("OEM"); some automobile manufacturers are equipping certain vehicle models in their product portfolio with Toyo tires.

The company was founded in August 1945. In January 2020, the Toyo Tire & Rubber Company was renamed the Toyo Tire Corporation .
