Trælanípa

The Trælanípa ( Faroese for slave cliff ) is a 148 meter high cliff on the south coast of the island of Vágar / Faroe Islands .

Two hiking trails lead to Trælanípa: one from Miðvágur to the south, and the other a little further west along Leitisvatn . The cliff takes its name from the fact that Irish slaves who were no longer able to work were thrown down here. This vertical cliff is a popular destination.

The Faroese metal group Týr shot parts of the music video for Hail to the Hammer here .
