Tracheobronchial lymph nodes
As Tracheobronchiallymphknoten ( tracheobronchial lymph nodes [Nll.] , Lymphonodi [lnn.] Tracheobronchiales ) are lymph nodes referred to, which at the branching of the trachea into the two main bronchi in the mediastinum are within the thorax. Most of the lymph from the lungs drains through the tracheobronchial lymph nodes .
There are two groups in humans:
- Nll. tracheobronchiales superiores
- Nll. tracheobronchiales inferiores
The lymph from the pulmonary lymph nodes ( Nll. Pulmonales ) and the bronchopulmonary lymph nodes ( Nll. Bronchopulmonales) also drain through the tracheobronchial lymph nodes .
In veterinary anatomy, the tracheobronchial lymph nodes are grouped together to form the bronchial lymphocenter . According to the relationship to the main bronchi, there are four groups:
- The Lymphonodi tracheobronchiales sinistri ("left tracheobronchial lymph nodes ") lie on the left of the tracheal bifurcation ( Bifurcatio tracheae ).
- The Lymphonodi tracheobronchiales dextri ("right tracheobronchial lymph nodes ") are located on the right side of the tracheal bifurcation. They are absent from sheep .
- The Lymphonodi tracheobronchiales medii ("middle tracheobronchial lymph nodes ") lie caudodorsal to the tracheal bifurcation.
- The Lymphonodi tracheobronchiales craniales ("anterior tracheobronchial lymph nodes ") are located in cloven-hoofed animals on the additional bronchus for the right anterior lung ( bronchus trachealis ).
