Trade Relationship Management

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The term Trade Relationship Management ( TRM for short ) stands for the management of relationships between trading companies, their customers and their suppliers. In contrast to Customer Relationship Management ( CRM ) and Supplier Relationship Management ( SRM ), which are each geared exclusively to the perspective of the seller or buyer, Trade Relationship Management deals with the processes that take place along the entire retail chain from the manufacturer to the end consumer arise.

Application in trading companies

Trade relationship management can reduce media discontinuities in retail companies that occur at the interface between SRM , ERP and CRM systems. For example, a trade relationship management solution that integrates product data from upstream suppliers in the offer process can make it unnecessary to add the products requested by the end customer in the ERP system until the end customer agrees to the offer, which is not the case with every offer must be the case.

TRM can be understood as another IT solution in the sense of the paperless office , as the entire process of preparing an offer from negotiating the conditions to ordering the required products is digital.

history

The term was introduced by Sanjiv Sethi, an Indian researcher and specialist in retail, in 2012. For the first time, he focused on the processes and relationships between companies and their resellers as intermediaries for customers. In his opinion, by strengthening these processes, sales should be promoted more than simply investing in customer relationships with end customers.

As a result, several technical solutions to support trade relationship management were brought onto the market independently of one another.
