Traditions of the Tegernsee Monastery

The traditions of the Tegernsee Monastery include gifts ( lat. Tradition ) and privileges of the Tegernsee Monastery from the 10th to the 13th centuries.

The traditions of the monastery are available as tradition books, a form of the copy book typical for religious institutions in southern Germany and Austria , i.e. H. a book with transcripts of documents .

The preserved traditions of the Tegernsee Monastery include 416 texts from the period from 1003 to 1242. Around 970 the monastery buildings were burned down, which means that many historical documents were lost.
