Jägerbrücke transformer house

The transformer house on Jägerbrücke / Mühlenstraße in Arnsberg is a listed building from 1919.

history

In 1919, the Arnsberg district power station built an overhead line from Arnsberg to Neheim . In this context, a transformer building was erected. The building was originally supposed to be built on the opposite side of the Jägerbrücke. However, the city assigned it to its current location at Mühlengraben.

The construction was planned by the architect Freckmann in the style of a medieval hexagonal defense tower. It fits into the image of the old town with its towers. The building is made of rubble stones. Several loopholes are indicated. The large round arch of the entrance portal, which is now walled up, was emphasized by lintel stones. The tower has a curved canopy covered with slate. The building is still used today for its original purpose.

The building was entered in the Arnsberg monument list under the number DL 327.
