The Trambulina Valea Largă is a ski jumping hill of category K45 in the Romanian town of Săcele . The entire ski jumping facility still has jumps of the categories K25, K15 and K5.
history
The first 25-meter ski jumping hill of the CSS Brașovia was built in 1979 near the city's hospital. Nowadays the four ski jumps are located in the small town of Săcele. The jumps were built in 1985 and equipped with plastic mattings from the Federal Republic of Germany.
In 1994 the Romanian championships in ski jumping took place for the first and only time on the 45 meter hill. Vasile Cosmeanu won the competition at the championships.
The current national coach of the Romanian national ski jumping team, Florin Spulber, trained a group of ski jumpers on the facility. In 2006, the run-down mats were stolen and the youngsters have had to commute to Râșnov ever since . Then the complex fell into disrepair and became a ruin.
With the support of the international ski association and the oil company OMV , with which the Romanian ski association has entered into a cooperation, the ski jumps at Săcele are to be renewed.
