Trampoline Bundesliga
The trampoline Bundesliga is the annual German club championship in trampoline gymnastics .
history
1973 is considered to be the birth of the trampoline Bundesliga , the first season took place in the second half of the year. There were five teams each in the two squadrons North and South . The participants were determined by the top performing clubs in qualifying competitions before the summer break.
At the beginning it was exceptionally allowed to start female gymnasts. Since no separate women's Bundesliga was developed in the following years, this regulation was lifted and mixed teams were allowed.
Arno Wiest from Bruchsal was one of the pioneers who acted as relay leader in the first year. Gerhard Schnierda from Düsseldorf-Unterbach followed in the second season , who headed the Bundesliga for 25 years and was appointed honorary chairman by the members at the end. The former national coach Heinz-Peter Michels from Frankfurt replaced him as his successor in 1998 and has been the Bundesliga chairman since then. In 1974, a two-part regional league was established in the south. From 1976 and 1977 there were also two regional league seasons in the north. At the beginning of the eighties, the groups were increased to six clubs and a few years later the designation II. Bundesliga was chosen for the previous regional league. In order to allow the most powerful clubs to compete against each other, the single-track I. Bundesliga and the two-part II. Bundesliga with seven teams each were introduced in 1998.
Since 1995 there has been a restricted second start right in the Bundesliga . At first one, later two athletes were allowed to be used per team. In the meantime, this regulation has been changed by the DTB in such a way that an unrestricted second start right has been valid since 2005. Foreigners are allowed to start if they can prove a permanent place of residence in Germany for at least one year. For a few years there were special regulations, which led to world-class athletes showing their sometimes breathtaking flight elements in the Bundesliga. The right to start for foreigners was abolished in 2003 by the German Sports Federation in consultation with the ministries in the capital Berlin and only allowed in professional sports in order to offer young Germans more opportunities to work.
In 2000 the trampoline discipline was added to the Olympic program . Nevertheless, the competitions were often only broadcast regionally by the television companies. However, it has been shown that the media report more extensively on trampoline gymnastics when international title holders are involved or the competitions are held in special locations, e.g. B. at the 2004 final in a Frankfurt bank tower. In the 1990s, the sports broadcaster DSF reported live from the Bundesliga finals.
