The Trans Thuringia is the longest dog sled race in Central Europe . The first race took place in 1995. The venue is the Rennsteig in the Thuringian Forest . The length of the route is variably divided into 4 stages. In 2000, 2001, 2002, 2007, 2008, 2014, 2016, 2018 and 2020, the race had to be canceled due to lack of snow.
