Transitforum Austria Tirol

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Transitforum Austria-Tirol is a non-partisan organization that stands up against the increase in transit traffic through Austria and the resulting damage to health, the economy and the environment. The activities are primarily directed against the increase in heavy goods vehicle traffic. What is required are its limitation and the greatest possible relocation of goods transport to the railways , preferably through the new instrument of a so-called Alpine transit exchange .

The forum was originally founded in Tyrol , but has now joined forces with other - similarly-minded organizations throughout Austria .

The Transitforum Austria-Tirol draws attention to itself again and again through various campaigns, whereby the motorway blockades attract the most public attention.
